Beijing Jiaotong University

Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU), established in 1896, is a national key university with a proud history of 129 years and over 71 years of experience in international education, having admitted its first overseas students in 1954. Recognized as one of the first universities in China accredited by the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) for quality overseas student education, BJTU welcomed 1,495 international students in 2023. It is jointly supported by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Transport, Beijing Municipal Government, and China State Railway Group Co., Ltd., and is listed under China’s Double First-Class Initiative with a strong focus on developing “Smart Transportation” as a world-class discipline. In addition, BJTU is a member of the prestigious “211 Project” and the “985 Innovative Platforms for Key Disciplines Project.”

With its prime location and modern campuses, BJTU provides an excellent academic and living environment. The Beijing Campus, situated in the renowned education district of Haidian, consists of East and West campuses covering nearly 1,000 acres with over 1 million square meters of building space. The Weihai Campus, also spanning more than 1,000 acres, features a planned construction area of 226,000 square meters that includes classrooms, administrative buildings, laboratories, and a modern library.
