Overview

Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was established in 1956 as one of the earliest specialist universities of traditional Chinese medicine in China. Based in Chengdu, it is jointly supported by the Ministry of Education, Sichuan Province and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and participates in the national Double First-Class initiative. Its teaching and research connect traditional Chinese medicine and Chinese materia medica with nursing, clinical medicine, health sciences and related disciplines. The university operates teaching and research facilities across its Wenjiang and Shi-er-qiao campuses and works with an affiliated hospital network that supports clinical education and medical research.

International applicants can pursue the undergraduate and postgraduate programs specifically listed in the university’s international admissions catalogs. The undergraduate list identifies one English-taught Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Tuina offering alongside Chinese-taught medical, science and management programs; the published international graduate catalogs identify Chinese-taught study. Undergraduate applicants must submit the relevant CSCA results, while postgraduate admission includes academic review, supervisor input and any required assessment. Applications use the international student portal, and original documents and health qualifications are checked at enrollment. Funding options include Chinese Government, Sichuan provincial, Chengdu municipal and university scholarships, each with its own selection and continuation conditions.
