Overview

China Foreign Affairs University is a specialized university in Beijing with a focus on diplomacy, international relations and the study of world affairs. Its academic portfolio brings together politics, international law, foreign languages, translation, economics and finance, giving students a setting where language skills and policy analysis reinforce one another. The university teaches across its Shahe and Zhanlan Road campuses, with the latter serving senior students and many graduate programs.

For the 2026 international intake, the university publishes separate Chinese-taught undergraduate, master’s and doctoral routes, alongside English-taught International Relations degrees at master’s and doctoral levels. Undergraduate study normally lasts four years; Chinese-taught master’s and doctoral programs run three and four years respectively, while the English-taught International Relations routes run two and three years. Applicants apply through the International Students Section and must meet the academic and language requirements in the relevant program notice.
