Donghua University

Donghua University (东华大学, DHU) is a multidisciplinary university in Shanghai under China’s Ministry of Education. Founded in 1951 and formerly known as China Textile University, it is particularly associated with textiles, materials and design. The university participates in Project 211 and the Double First-Class initiative, alongside a broader academic portfolio in engineering, science, business and the humanities.

International programs are based at the Yan’an Road and Songjiang campuses. Donghua offers undergraduate, master’s and doctoral study through Chinese- and English-taught routes, with language and duration depending on the program. Its Chinese-language courses combine classroom instruction, cultural activities and practical communication, with both semester courses and shorter seasonal programs available.
