Gansu Agricultural University

Gansu Agricultural University is a research-oriented public university in Lanzhou jointly supported by the Gansu provincial government and China's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Agriculture is its academic center of gravity, while its teaching and research also span engineering, science, economics, management and the humanities. The university has a long graduate-education history: it began enrolling postgraduate students in 1953 and holds authorization to award bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. Its work is closely connected to the practical needs of farming, animal husbandry, food systems and environmental management in western China.

For international applicants, the 2026–2027 admissions guide opens approximately 20 master's and doctoral places across the disciplines named in its two official program appendices. The catalog includes crop science, horticulture, veterinary medicine, forestry, grassland science, agricultural engineering, food science and several complementary fields. The university reports cooperation with more than 80 universities, research organizations and international bodies across over 30 countries, creating opportunities for academic exchange and collaborative training. Applicants apply through the university's international-student portal and are assessed on their academic record, language preparation and prospective supervision.
