Overview
Guizhou Normal University was founded in 1941 as National Guiyang Teachers College and adopted its present name in 1985. Based in Guiyang, it became a university jointly supported by the Ministry of Education and Guizhou Province in 2015. Its teaching and research cover education, humanities, philosophy, science, engineering and other disciplines, with undergraduate, master’s and doctoral education and postdoctoral research in several established fields.
The School of International Education manages scholarship admissions and Chinese-language study for international applicants. Its current language programme offers in-person elementary, intermediate and advanced classes, combining listening, speaking, reading and writing with cultural and practical activities. The university participates in CSC, provincial and institutional funding schemes, with admission based on document review and assessments of academic and language preparation; specific degree subjects and scholarship routes must be confirmed against their own calls.
