Overview
Heihe University stands in the Heilongjiang border city of Heihe, across the Amur River from Blagoveshchensk, Russia. It is a public undergraduate university whose programs span nine disciplinary fields. The university reports 43 undergraduate majors, more than 13,000 full-time students and 783 faculty and staff. Its location and academic partnerships give it a distinctive focus on exchange with Russia and other Eurasian countries.
The university has recruited international students since 2003 through a dedicated College of International Education. Its current international admissions and scholarship guides identify four degree majors: Chinese Language and Literature, Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, International Economics and Trade, and Primary Education. These are Chinese-taught four-year bachelor’s programs; applicants can enter through self-funded study or one of several published scholarship routes, each with its own eligibility and document deadlines.
