Overview
Established in 1974 in Changsha, Hunan Mechanical and Electrical Polytechnic is a provincial vocational college recognized in Hunan’s high-level vocational-school initiative. Its nine academic schools and departments focus on mechanical and electrical engineering, automotive technology, smart equipment, information technology and modern services. The college reports 32 full-time diploma majors and established provincial high-level groups in intelligent control, mechanical manufacturing and intelligent connected vehicles.
The college received authorization to recruit international students in 2024 and enrolled 22 international students across 2024 and 2025. Its 2026 international admissions brochure offers five three-year, Chinese-taught diploma programs: mechatronics, electrical automation, mechanical manufacturing, applied electronics and electronic commerce. Applicants need a secondary-school qualification and HSK Level 3 or equivalent Chinese proficiency; the admissions process includes document screening and an online interview.
