Overview
Jiangsu Second Normal University is a provincial public university in Nanjing centered on teacher education. Its predecessor, Jiangsu Institute of Education, was founded in 1952, and the institution received its present university name in 2013. Across its Shiqiu and Caochangmen campuses, the university has 15 academic units and a curriculum in education, humanities, languages, mathematics, science, engineering, business and the arts.
The 2026 international admissions guide identifies 32 four-year bachelor’s majors open to overseas students, along with two two-year bachelor-transfer routes in Trade Economics and Hotel Management. The same 32 degree majors are also available after a one-year Chinese-language preparatory stage; direct-entry and transfer applicants need HSK 4. The university provides four-person campus dormitory rooms without a housing charge and assesses incoming degree students for its published first-year scholarship.
