Overview
Leshan Normal University traces its educational roots to the Sichuan Provincial Leshan Normal School established in 1940 and became a higher-education institution in 1978. Today it has 17 schools, roughly 60 undergraduate majors and three master’s degree authorization areas. Its teaching and research cover education, the humanities, natural sciences, engineering and agriculture, with regional work in special education, bamboo resources and new-energy materials.
The university began enrolling international degree students in 2013 and reports having taught students from more than twenty countries and regions. Its 2026 international intake publishes two four-year bilingual bachelor’s routes: International Economics and Trade with a digital-economy focus and Business English with a digital-trade focus. The programs connect trade and language study with cross-border commerce, the RCEP region and Leshan’s tourism economy.
