Liaoning Petrochemical University (LNPU), the first petroleum university established in New China, has a rich legacy that began in Dalian in 1950 and now thrives in Fushun. From its early roots as the Fushun Petroleum Institute to its transformation into a comprehensive university, LNPU has grown into a powerhouse of petroleum and petrochemical education, blending engineering excellence with strong programs in science, management, economics, and the arts. Backed by partnerships with industry giants such as CNPC, SINOPEC, and CNOOC, the university continues to lead innovation in energy education and research.
