Overview
NYU Shanghai is a joint Sino-American research university in Shanghai and one of New York University’s three degree-granting global campuses. Undergraduates study a common liberal-arts and sciences core before choosing among nineteen majors across biology, business, computing, data science, engineering, humanities, mathematics, and social science. Students normally spend time in the NYU global network and graduate with an NYU degree and a Chinese-accredited NYU Shanghai diploma.
Graduate education includes six currently listed professional master’s subjects and ten doctoral subjects shown in the university’s program directory. Several master’s degrees are run with NYU schools in New York and include study on both campuses; doctoral students typically complete foundational work in New York before Shanghai-based research. Applicants must follow each degree’s own admission and funding process because deadlines, tuition and scholarship terms vary across programs.
