Overview

Sichuan Fine Arts Institute is a public arts university in Chongqing with campuses at Huxi and Huangjueping. Its academic work spans painting, sculpture, Chinese painting, moving-image arts, architecture, design, art history and arts education. Studio practice sits alongside visual research and critical study, giving students opportunities to develop both technical skills and a considered creative voice. The institute has authority to confer bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees.

For the 2026 international undergraduate intake, the institute publishes a broad program list across its specialist schools. Applicants can study traditional and contemporary fine arts, film and animation, visual and product design, digital media, public art, architecture or art theory. Most programs run for four years, while Sculpture and Architectural Science run for five. Admission is based on document review and interview; most studio programs require a relevant portfolio, while the guide exempts Art Design, Art History and Theory, and Fine Arts from that requirement.
