Universitas Andalas

Universitas Andalas (Unand) is a public university based in Padang, West Sumatra. Founded in the 1950s and inaugurated as a university in 1956, it has grown into a multidisciplinary institution with faculties covering agriculture, medicine, engineering, law, economics, humanities, public health and related fields. It gained autonomous public-university status in 2021.

Unand’s 2026 KNB selection includes bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs, reflecting the breadth of its teaching and research. Under that scholarship, students take Indonesian-language preparation before regular Indonesian-medium coursework and complete their research in Indonesia. Unand also has an international admissions portal; individual program requirements and direct-admission availability should be checked against that route’s current publication.
