Wuyi University (Guangdong)

Wuyi University is a public university established by Guangdong Province in 1985 in Jiangmen, within the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area. Its location in a city closely connected with overseas Chinese communities shapes its educational and international partnerships. Engineering is central to its academic portfolio, alongside science, economics, management, literature, law and art. The university develops research and professional education in areas including materials, chemistry, information technology, manufacturing, textiles, pharmaceuticals and regional cultural studies.

The university admits international undergraduate and master’s students through a dedicated international admissions process, and its School of International Education also provides Chinese-language courses. Degree applicants undergo qualification and academic assessment, with Chinese proficiency requirements and interviews or written assessments determined by the admissions guide. Language students are placed into appropriate classes and study practical Chinese through structured semester teaching. International degree students can apply competitively for Guangdong government awards for new or continuing students. This is the Jiangmen institution in Guangdong, distinct from the university with a similar English name in Fujian.
