Xi’an Shiyou University

Xi’an Shiyou University (XSYU) is a multidisciplinary university in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, with a distinctive focus on petroleum and petrochemical education. Founded in 1951 as a petroleum training institution, it has developed into a university offering study and research in engineering, geosciences, chemistry and related technical fields, alongside management and other disciplines. Its close connection to China’s energy sector gives its academic profile a strong applied dimension.

XSYU operates the Yanta, Mingde and Huyi campuses and offers undergraduate and postgraduate education, including doctoral study. The university is jointly supported by Shaanxi Province and three major Chinese petroleum companies, linking classroom learning with industry needs. International students can study through its College of International Education; the university is also authorized to recruit students under the Chinese Government Scholarship program.
