Overview

Xiamen Ocean Vocational College is a public institution under Fujian Province’s education department, founded in 1920 by Tan Kah Kee through the fisheries section of Jimei School. Its Siming and Xiang’an campuses carry a long tradition of practical education for maritime, fisheries and marine-industry work. The college now has ten schools and more than 8,800 full-time students, with training facilities linked to navigation, marine biology, engineering, information technology and international commerce.

The college’s 2026 admissions guide for students from Maritime Silk Road countries lists 17 three-year diploma majors. Applicants can choose aquaculture and food processing, vessel operations and port services, robotics and electromechanical technology, digital media, e-commerce or tourism. All published programs require Chinese-language readiness at HSK Level 4 or above, and the guide includes a separate competitive scholarship that can support study and living-related costs.
