Yanshan University (YSU)

Founded in 1920, Yanshan University is located in Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province. It is a comprehensive university supported by the Hebei Provincial Government, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

YSU has a beautiful campus covering over 330 hectares, with modern academic facilities, green spaces, and a vibrant student community of around 40,000 students and over 3,200 faculty and staff.

The university is highly recognized for its strengths in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, and Computer Science, with several disciplines ranked in the top 1% globally by international research indicators. Its research achievements have contributed to major national projects such as the COMAC C919 airliner, Shenzhou spacecraft, China’s high-speed rail system, and the FAST telescope.

YSU has earned strong global recognition, consistently ranking among the top 1500 universities worldwide. Its Mechanical Engineering program is ranked among the best in China, and Materials Science & Engineering also holds a top national ranking.
