Zhengzhou University of Light Industry

Founded in 1977, Zhengzhou University of Light Industry is a public university in Henan’s capital with a history in industrial and applied education. It operates three campuses and reports about 2,300 staff and more than 36,000 full-time undergraduate and graduate students. Its research spans electrical engineering, food science, chemical engineering, mechanical systems, design and other fields connected to regional industry.

The university works with more than 100 institutions and organizations in over 30 countries and offers dedicated admissions for international degree students. Its 2026 international guide names one Chinese-taught bachelor’s program, eleven master’s programs and four doctoral programs. Most graduate options are available in Chinese or English, while International Chinese Education is Chinese-taught. Applicants use the university’s online portal; graduate candidates first seek a prospective supervisor’s approval.
