A grade makes sense only when you know what it belongs to. A score of 3.5 means something different on a four-point scale and a five-point scale; a predicted result says something different from a completed qualification.
Academic keeps those distinctions inside each education record. In Academic background, Education history lets you describe the qualification, its institution and the result together. That structure gives you a more reliable foundation for reading university options.
Make each record tell one educational story
Add the education level, institution name, country, qualification awarded and field or major for that record. The editor also provides a city field, study dates and language of instruction. Keep the qualification name close to the wording in your own records so you can recognize it later.
Use separate records for separate qualifications. A bachelor's degree and a school-leaving qualification should each keep their own institution, dates and results. This becomes particularly useful when you explore a new study level: you can see which stage of your education supports the next one.
The education list identifies its first record as Highest qualification, but the matching choice also depends on the study level you are seeking. Read the individual record before assuming that its position alone tells you how it will be used.
Select the scale before entering the result
Inside Result for this qualification, choose Grading system first. Academic then shows a grade control suited to that scale. Supported options include several GPA scales, a ten-point CGPA scale, percentage, degree classification and letter grade.
Enter the original result. If your transcript records 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, choose that scale and enter 3.5. If it records a percentage, use the percentage option. For a classification, choose the applicable classification from the available choices.
Avoid creating your own conversion just to fit a different scale. A converted number can hide what the institution actually awarded, which makes the next comparison harder to interpret. If you correct the grading system, check the result again: the editor clears a number that is invalid on the newly selected scale.
Show whether you are still studying
Use Currently studying for an ongoing qualification. The record then asks for an expected graduation date. If the qualification is completed, record its graduation date instead.
For an ongoing qualification with a result, you can choose Current result or Predicted result. Current should describe the result you have reached so far; predicted should describe an estimate that has actually been issued. Keep a personal target out of the result field.
When the qualification is completed, revisit the record, update its study status and enter the final result. This gives your saved profile a clear transition from a plan in progress to completed education.
Make the relevant qualification clear
Each education record includes Use this qualification for matching. This is particularly useful when you have more than one qualification at the level relevant to your next course. Selecting one tells Academic which record you intend to use.
The qualification still needs to be relevant to the study level you selected. For example, the matching logic looks for a bachelor's-level record for a master's goal. Choosing a record does not change its level or turn a different qualification into the required background.
Finish by checking the institution, scale, result status and matching selection together, then save the section. Your Academic profile summary can show the selected qualification and result, including whether it is current or predicted.
Open your Academic profile and make sure its education record tells the same story as your own records.
