Contact sharing can be right for a first conversation and need changing later. You may prefer a different service, want to stop sharing a method, or decide that an interaction should end. Connect has controls for each of those situations.
The useful question is the scope of the change. Updating one person’s access is different from disabling a method everywhere. Blocking ends an unwanted connection. Reporting also blocks the person and gives IMS information to review. Start with the control that matches the outcome you want.
Change what one connection can access
Open the accepted connection and choose Manage sharing. The editor shows the methods you share with that person. Keep the methods you still want available, clear the others and choose Save sharing.
To stop sharing all your methods with that connection, clear every option and choose Revoke access. Read the result before leaving the screen so you know the change was saved.
For example, a student who previously shared WhatsApp and Telegram may decide to keep only Telegram available through IMS Hub. That can be handled within that one connection without changing what they share with everyone else.
Disable one method across your connections
Your Connect profile’s Privacy & safety area includes the private contact vault. Open a saved method and use its disable option if you no longer want it accessible through Connect anywhere.
The confirmation explains that disabling the method revokes future in-app access to it across your connections. This is useful when retiring an account or choosing to stop using a particular channel for student conversations. Check which service you are editing before confirming a change with that wider reach.
A contact copied into another app remains outside the effect of that revocation. If you are also changing how people can reach you in the external service, review that service’s controls separately.
Withdraw all contact sharing when that is your intention
When available in Privacy & safety, Stop all contact sharing offers a broader action across Connect connections. Read the confirmation and choose Stop sharing to withdraw future in-app contact access.
This action is separate from ending a nearby live session. Turning off nearby visibility is about discovery; contact withdrawal changes access that resulted from earlier accepted introductions. You can use the appropriate controls together when your intention includes both.
Privacy actions need a working connection to complete. If the app shows an error or offline state, return when it can confirm the action instead of assuming the requested change has already happened.
Block a person when the connection should end
Open the person’s profile and use Safety to find the block action. The confirmation explains that blocking hides the profiles from one another, stops pending introductions, ends any connection and revokes contact access within IMS.
Blocking can be appropriate when contact is unwanted. You do not need to accept a request first or continue an uncomfortable exchange in order to use the control.
You can later review the list under Blocked students and use Unblock if you choose. Read the current state after making that decision; an unblock should not be treated as a promise that an earlier connection or sharing choice has been restored.
Send a report with useful, limited context
From Safety, choose the report action, select the reason that best fits and add optional details when they help explain what happened. The options include misleading profiles or photos, harassment, spam and other safety concerns.
Describe observable behavior clearly. A brief account of what concerned you is more useful than speculation about the person’s motives. Include only information needed for the review, then use Send private report.
The report is private and is not shown to the reported student. Submitting a report also blocks that person for you in Connect. You can use Block on its own when you want to end contact without submitting a report. Open IMS Hub on mobile to review your sharing settings or the available safety controls.
