A percentage draws the eye before the explanation beside it. In Academic, the useful question is what that number tells you about the particular program in front of you.
The match percentage expresses current compatibility between your saved profile and the available program information. It is not your probability of admission. You get more value from it by reading the supporting factors and any remaining conditions, then deciding what to investigate next.
Start with the factors behind the number
With full Academic access, open a university option and expand Your match. The detailed assessment can show individual factors, their scores or a Needs confirmation message, and a short explanation of the basis used.
The matching calculation considers different parts of the decision, including academic preparation, program alignment, degree progression, affordability, language and destination preferences where relevant. These factors have different weights, so the overall percentage is more than a simple count of matching preferences.
Read the explanation attached to a factor before interpreting its number. A cost factor based on partial published fees gives you a different next question from one supported by a complete comparable annual cost. The explanation helps you understand that difference.
Separate compatibility from evidence coverage
The expanded assessment can also show Evidence coverage. This indicates how complete and well-supported the applicable matching information is. It is a separate measure from how well the option fits your profile.
A program may align with your subject interests while some information about its requirements remains incomplete. That does not make the missing information positive or negative evidence about you. It identifies a part of the assessment that still needs work.
Look at both measures together. Compatibility helps explain the relationship between the option and your plan. Evidence coverage helps explain how much of that relationship is supported by usable information. The assessment date tells you when the displayed evaluation was made.
Read provisional and conditional information closely
A Provisional label appears when the assessment has unresolved or partial information. Its score can change as the relevant evidence becomes available. Read the notes shown there and look for the specific issue instead of trying to infer it from the headline number.
Conditions describe something that remains necessary for the option. A pending HSK result, for example, can leave a language condition alongside a degree option. A planned level and expected result date help describe the plan; they do not count as an achieved result.
Academic requirements also have their own eligibility checks. A preferred city or a good subject fit does not cancel an unmet admission requirement. This is why the detailed explanation matters even when the overall percentage looks attractive.
Use the score to choose a question
After reading Your match, write down the next fact you need. It might be a final result for an ongoing qualification, a completed language test, a comparable cost total or confirmation of a published requirement.
Correct your profile when the missing fact belongs to you. When it concerns the program, use its published sources to investigate. A profile update should describe a real change in your situation; the objective is a better-informed decision, rather than a larger percentage.
Open an Academic option and read its score with the explanation visible. You should finish knowing why the option is relevant and which condition deserves your attention.
