A few weeks after an introduction, you may remember the person’s project more clearly than their name. Perhaps you discussed a design assignment, a university transition or a shared hobby. Connect’s connection list gives you a place to find that person again and return to the contact methods they have made available.
This part of Connect is useful after discovery has done its job. You can search existing connections, open a profile for context and continue a conversation through a shared external service without needing to find the person in a new nearby session.
Use the connection list as your starting point
Open Introductions from Connect, or use Connections on your own Connect profile. The Connections section lists accepted connections and includes Search connections.
Search can use the person’s name and available profile text, including their bio and displayed institution. Try a specific word you remember rather than several uncertain details. For example, searching “design” could help you find a connection whose bio describes a design project; adding an institution name can narrow the result when that information is present.
Open the profile to check that you have found the right person. Profiles can change over time, so a missing old phrase does not necessarily mean the connection has disappeared. Clear the search and review the list if your first attempt is too narrow.
Follow the contact action that is available
An accepted introduction gives each person access to the methods the other selected. The connection may therefore offer one contact method or several. Use the available action for the service you want to continue in.
For WeChat, Connect copies the approved WeChat ID so you can use it in that app. For WhatsApp, Instagram and Telegram, the action attempts to open the relevant chat or profile. If opening fails, the interface can copy the contact value instead and show feedback about the result.
Pay attention to that feedback before trying again. An “opened” or “copied” action is a handoff to another service, not a message sent on your behalf. You still choose whether to write, what to say and when to send it in the external app.
Give the next conversation enough context
Begin with a reminder when some time has passed. A message could be: “Hi, we connected through IMS Hub and talked about your design project. I have started my own first prototype. Would you be interested in comparing what we learned?”
That wording explains who you are, connects to an earlier topic and asks a manageable question. If you are asking for help, describe a focused problem instead of sending a large collection of files without context. A connection’s availability can change with exams, work and other commitments.
Choose one of the methods shared with you and give the person time to reply. Multiple contact methods offer options; they do not mean that the person expects the same message on every service. Let the conversation develop at a pace that works for both people.
Keep contact access current
You can use Manage sharing to review the methods you share with a particular connection. Select the methods you want to keep available and choose Save sharing. Clearing every selection changes the action to Revoke access, which stops future in-app access to your methods for that connection.
The other person can make equivalent choices. If their contact details are no longer available, read the current message and refresh when appropriate. A connection entry is not a promise that a particular contact method will remain shared indefinitely.
Revocation cannot remove a detail already copied outside IMS Hub. Use the external service’s own controls for a conversation that has moved there. Existing mutual contacts remain available on Basic, subject to current eligibility, consent and safety controls.
